In Memoriam: Nii Aban Boi I (Abeka Seitse & Regent Chief) — of the Abeka Stool

It is with profound grief and deep respect that the Nii Boi Royal Family announces the passing of Nii Aban Boi I, Regent of the Abeka Stool, who departed this life in 2025 after a short illness.

Nii Aban Boi I was appointed Regent of the Abeka Stool on 5 December 2022 by the unanimous resolution of the Nii Boi Royal Family. His appointment came at a pivotal moment in the history of the Abeka Stool, when the Royal Family called upon him to serve as custodian and representative of the Stool pending the determination of a matter before the Judicial Committee of the Ga Traditional Council.

He accepted the responsibility without hesitation, carrying the weight of the Stool with the composure and quiet authority that defined his character. Throughout his tenure as Regent, Nii Aban Boi I upheld the dignity of the Nii Boi Royal Family and maintained the integrity of the Abeka Stool in the eyes of the community, the Traditional Council, and all who came before him in official capacity.

He was a son of the Akwaley Anan house — the house of the Second Wife of Nuumo Apiakai (George Boye) — and carried the lineage of the Second Stool Father of the Abeka Stool. His service as Regent was not merely administrative; it was a personal sacrifice made in the interest of the entire Royal Family and the people of Abeka.

The Nii Boi Royal Family extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and all those who knew and loved Nii Aban Boi I. His service will be remembered as a testimony of loyalty, dignity, and devotion to the Royal House.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
